New Title Announcements

If A Letter to Momo wasn't enough to hype you up, then this sure will be. Madman's new releases have been announced, and while only two of them stand out, it's still great to know these will soon be on my shelves!

First we have the best, the highly awaited, the late-in-arriving and still-lacking-a-blu-ray-release but deserves-to-be-more-popular...

Yeah. It's - 

Kara no Kyokai - The Garden of Sinners.

Being a huge fan of Type-moon, you can imagine I was hyped at Madman's announcement of an AU and NZ release of Garden of Sinners. I enjoyed their Canaan, and their fate/stay night and fate/zero series. All hold-up extremely well in the visual department but deliver a good story too.

Visually Garden of Sinners is the best of all three. It's a psycho thriller, combing supernatural, horror, and action all into a very complexly animated film series.

Garden of Sinners will be released in a Limited Edition Collectors' Boxset. Featuring 8 DVDs, 36-page Deluxe Booklet  and a set of 14 postcards for $149.95. Be prepared; it comes in October 2013 - which is a good price, in my opinion.

Though sadly...it still lacks a blu-ray release.

Bakuman 

 I love the manga for this one, and while I have yet to check out the anime - which apparently isn't as good - I'm still glad this is getting a release from Madman. Following two teenagers with a dream to become manga artists Bakuman shows the ins-and-outs of the brutally hard industry, and has a lot of comedy and info to match! 

Unfortunately - like Garden of Sinners - it won't receive a dub or a blu ray; however it will be released subtitled on a DVD set sometime later this year.

Vividred Operation

Otherwise known as Panties and Magic Powahz.

I watched one episode of Vividred Operation last anime season, and dropped it straight after. It lacks much originality, and really does pander to people who just want to see cutesy moe girls wearing skimpy outfits. If that's your thing - and you loved Strike Witches mind you - then go watch it. But even many people who watched Strike Witches found the show boring and 'meh.' :/

Still, Vividred Operation will be released in a to be determined date. So if you're curious about buying it then stay tuned to Madman's site for further info.

And now here are the synopsizes for each series.

Garden of Sinners

After spending two years in a coma caused by a traffic accident, Shiki Ryougi awakens with amnesia. Inexplicably, she finds, in turn, that she has also obtained “Mystic Eyes of Death Perception” in which she can see the invisible lines of mortality that hold every living and non-living thing together. Working for a small independent agency, Shiki attempts to unravel the baffling mystery behind a series of abnormal, horrifying incidents, but are they a foreshadowing that leads to something even more tragic and ominous? Things are not what they appear to be on the surface, but what dark revelations lie underneath? Bakuman

Vividred Operation

Akane Isshiki, an innocent 14-year-old girl, lives a poor, but happy, life with her level-headed little sister Momo, who takes care of all the household chores by herself, and their grandfather Kenjiro, who is a genius inventor but creates nothing but useless gizmos. On clear days, they can see the artificial island Blue Island out across the water.
